Becoming a Parent
One of the biggest and most difficult responsibilities that you will have to face in life is becomming a parent. The reality of it can get overwhelming, especially for first time parents. Even if you spend the nine months of waiting before your child is born preparing all you can, it can still be too much to handle.
First, you need to acknowledge that it is okay to feel anxious about becomming a parent. Something that is bigger than you and would change your life forever will naturally take a toll on your nerves. But while feeling fear is normal, would be parents ought to conquer it.
A child coming would mean a lot of changes will, too. Your day to day life would ultimately be altered: you have to take care of the baby, mind its needs, feed it, carry it, bathe it, look after it, etc. Sleep deprivation will probably be the most constant thing in your life during the first few months. Just think of it as you'll be able to witness all the wonderful changes and events when you are awake.
A baby can also affect your environment, and that does not just mean a crib and stroller in the hallway and toys and cookie crumbs on the floor: a baby can also affect your relationship with your partner, as well as all the other people around you. You may not have as much time for them, so you need to learn to manage your time.
And lastly, one of the most important things you have to remember in becomming a parent is that you will definitely make mistakes along the way, and that wouldn't mean those mistakes will make you a bad mother or father. Enjoy your time with your child while learning along the way.
